The Perils of Isolation on Your Self Esteem

Self esteem is the key to your emotions and how you work as a human in both a mental and physical way. If you have low self esteem your well being may suffer significantly.

If you feel low and worthless you many end up distancing yourself from relationships. If you are alone and feeling down, your negative self talk will only continue a downward spiral into depression. The worst case scenario of isolation and depression is suicidal tendencies.

Negative self talk also leads to a wild imagination taking over and creating all the many possible "what if" situations. Your anxiety goes up and the likelihood of panic attacks substance increases.

With no outlet there is no sense of reasoning for you. You end up bottling everything up until the stress becomes unbearable and something blows, it mentally or physically. You cannot trap emotions. Keeping it within it just like shaking a bottle of champagne. Eventually, the cork will pop and it will be messy!

Food is a great way to comfort yourself when feeling isolated as it makes you feel good instantly. The problem with this method of finding happiness is the weight gain and further health problems that occur. Your self esteem just takes more of a pounded when you look in the mirror and now REALLY hate yourself.

So then you go the other way and stop eating all together thinking rapid weight loss will resolve your isolation issues. You become anorexic and anemic, suffering from bulimia. Now the only cure for this is professional help or an early grave.

So what else could you do to enjoy the isolation? Well there is always a drug addiction to keep getting quick fixes to feel high. This will of course lead to brain damage if it turns into a full blown addiction. What about alcohol? You can always just stay permanently drunk and hope all your problems disappear. You may feel braver but your self esteem will plummet and your major bodily organs just will not function correctly for you

So there you have it, the problems that can occur from low self esteem and isolating yourself. If you need help enhancing your confidence then make sure you get the right help and avoid the perils above. Make that change now before serious problems really start.
